Oversized blazers have made a HUGE comeback and I am here for it! I got this blazer from ZARA. I love it because it’s affordable, it’s perfectly oversized, the green color is on trend for Spring/Summer, and it can dress up any casual outfit . Today, I’m going to show you 3 different outfits so you can feel stylish and pulled together wearing one all Summer long.
This first look is what I like to call “soccer mom chic” It’s comfortable, easy to put together and you’re going to look super stylish running your errands! I dressed down the blazer with some distressed jeans, a Stranger things tee and some white sneakers.
If you’ve been following my page for a while, You know I love a monochromatic look, so I had to do it for my second look. I love that the mini skirt in this set gives the usual power suit a fresh twist. I finished it with some knee high boots to give it a bit of an edgier feel.
The last look would be what you would wear if you wanted to go out with your coworkers after work, it’s dressy but the colorful blazer keeps it youthful and stylish.
Puffer vest are all the rage this season. I’m sure by now you’ve seen puffer jackets all over social media and clothing stores, so today I’m going to show you 3 ways you can wear the one you’ve been eyeing. The one I’m wearing today is from H&M and it was only $50! I opted for a vest since San Diego Winter’s are honestly never that cold. I chose to go for 3 monochromatic looks so the vest is the item that stands out the most.
The first look is perfect for your 9-5, or maybe a lunch date! I styled some nude slacks with a cute nude blouse, and added a tote bag to keep it casual, and keep the monochromatic look going.
The second look is a casual look you can wear out to run errands, I paired a tan sweatsuit with my white doc’s to give it an edgier look, and sealed the deal with the white puffer, it’s comfortable and it looks like you actually tried!
The last look it’s probably one of my favorites, this is perfect for a date night or a night out with your girls, I wore a black sweater and added some leather pants to give the outfit a little more shape , and finished the outfit with black boots to help my 5’2 frame look longer and of course the star of the show the white puffer vest
I don’t know about you, but I love reading self help books. There’s something about getting lost in someone else’s story that is both incredibly grounding and motivating. Of course, not all self help books are created equal. Some of them are a little too…well, preachy for my taste. But recently I discovered a few gems that have really helped me stay motivated and on track with my goals. In case you’re looking for some reading material that will jump start your own journey to self growth, here are three of my favorite self help books!
Do you want to be more productive in the morning? If so, then this book is for you. Robin Sharma has a way of writing that keeps you entertained and motivated. He understands what we go through as entrepreneurs and how difficult it can be to get up early every day and stay focused on our goals. This book will help motivate you to wake up earlier than ever before, take care of yourself first thing in the morning, and start your day off right with a clear mind! You’ll learn about how important it is not just to set goals but also create habits around those goals so they become part of who we are as people.
Do you feel like your inner badass is hiding behind the fears and self-doubt that have been holding you back? If so, This book is for you. In this book Jen Sincero cuts through the din of financial advice out there today to show us how we can align our own core values with our deepest desires for a more joyful existence. She reminds us that being rich isn’t about having lots of money; it’s about feeling fulfilled on every level spiritually, emotionally and creatively. And she offers an easy process for creating wealth by unleashing our natural ability to attract all those things we really want into our lives. Even if you don’t believe in manifesting it’s a great way to get out of your negative thoughts and believe you can achieve everything you desire!
Lastly, we have Atomic Habits by James Clear, which might be my favorite of the 3. This is a book about creating good habits and breaking bad ones. It’s based on the idea that “tiny changes now, lead to massive results later.” James Clear is an expert in building better habits and making them stick. This book will teach you exactly how to do it, step-by-step. You’ll learn why some people succeed with their goals while others fail (and what separates those who get lasting results). You’ll also learn where most people go wrong when trying to make lasting change, so you can avoid these mistakes yourself! And finally, you’ll see real life examples of simple behaviors that have transformed peoples’ lives.
Hello friends!! it’s been a whileeee! I apologize for being so MIA, but quarantine has me feeling drained, and if you’re feeling how I’m feeling. Let me tell you some retail therapy does the trick! I got some amazing new shoes from Steve Madden a month ago, so this haul is long overdue! Regardless here it is with direct links hyperlinked in the pictures, in case you love them as much as I do!
THECAIRO
I love all the shoes I got, but I especially love how versatile these little mules are! You can wear them with jeans and a tee to add a little flair to your outfit or you can pair them up with a skirt for work. The color is perfect to go with pretty much any outfit! These are originally $89 but they’re 50 percent off with the discount code SPRING50.
THE FORTRESS
I LOVE how comfortable these guys are! I’m usually always in some sort of heel because I’m only 5’2 and I need the extra inches to see the rest of the world! Lol, but with these I don’t even care that my eyesight is limited! They are so cute and comfortable! and thanks to the tan color they go with everything!! I usually wear them with cropped boyfriend or mom jeans and an oversized button up or a graphic tee. These are $89 and unfortunately sold out, but you can pre order them to get them in October!
THE CLASSIFY
I honestly just got these because they gave me Yeezy vibes without the Yeezy price, and they are my new favorite pair of heels! They go with so many different outfits, and every time I wear them I get so many compliments on them. Unfortunately these are completely sold out, but I’ve linked some strappy clear heels from ASOS that are just as cute!
THE ROSELITA
I haven’t even been able to wear these yet! I specifically got them to wear them in the Summer because they looked so comfortable. Luckily for me it’s Summer almost all year round in San Diego so I’m sure I’ll wear them into the Fall. I can see these being paired with a simple satin maxi dress, or a cute maxi skirt. These are $80.
THE CAMRYN
I adore a good bootie, I literally adore them so much that when I find a comfortable one I wear it to the ground! and these are so comfortable, and the print is so cute! These go great with some skinny or wide cute jeans and a tee! These are $149.
THE AUDIENCE
The Audience was the last pair I got & like I said, I love a good, comfortable bootie. These are exactly that! the heel is enough to give you a little boost, but small enough to be comfortable enough to wear all day. I love that even though they’re black the shiny material and crocodile print add a more edgy feel to them. These go great with pretty much anything since they hit right at the ankle you can wear them with dresses, skirts or jeans. Go wild! These are $134 but they’re on sale for 50 percent off with the code SPRING50.
Hello friends! I hope you’re all staying happy and healthy during this pandemic. It’s been a ride for me, there’s days I feel super happy and productive and others I just want to stay in bed and watch trashy TV to help me forget about real life problems. Regardless, I’m just grateful that my family and I have stayed healthy. Today I’m going to tell you how I’m managing to stay sane through this lockdown and hopefully it helps give you some ideas!
STICK TO A SCHEDULE MON-FRI
Even though I don’t usually work a Mon-Fri job, This is the time I’m giving myself that schedule. I have to be somewhat productive those days so I don’t feel bad for staying in bed all day during the weekend. If you’re like me and you’re completely out of a job during this time it’s hard to find ways to stay productive, but there’s definitely ways! here’s what I do…
WORKOUT
Release those endorphins!! I try to workout everyday for at least 30 minutes, It doesn’t have to be hard workouts that make you hate life. Some days I just go for long walks and that’s my work out, other days My boyfriend, dog and I will go for a run and then I’ll come home and do some strength training. There are tons of free online workout videos you can follow but my favorite is the FitOn app, if you haven’t heard of it yet you’re about to be hooked! it’s a free app with a ton of different work out videos. They also have different intensities, and all of the trainers do a great job of keeping it fun while still kicking your butt!
TRY NEW RECIPES
I don’t know about you but I LOVE cooking new things, I think it’s so therapeutic and you get an instant satisfaction. If you haven’t tried Homechef yet now is the time! They deliver to your door once a week so you don’t even have to go to the grocery store as often and you get everything you need for their recipes, except for salt, oil & pepper. All of their recipes are so delicious and you get to pick and customize your order which is nice since my boyfriend and I don’t eat meat. If you’re not into the whole food delivery services, cooking books are a good way to go I mean yeah, we have Pinterest and Youtube now but there’s something about a good cook book that makes cooking more fun.
EAT HEALTHIER
I’m not saying eat a kale salad everyday for lunch and dinner but try to incorporate healthier meals through out the week to keep your body feeling good. When the lockdown first started I was pigging out I felt gross, and even more depressed! So this has definitely helped me feel better and like I’m doing something good for my body. Yes I still eat ice cream and chips, but it’s BALANCE my friends!
PICK UP A NEW HOBBY
Try to find a new hobby that doesn’t require any screen time. I’ve discovered that I enjoy puzzling!
CATCH UP ON YOUR READING
I LOVE reading, but I felt like I never had time to read because I was always on the go. Now I’ll schedule myself 30-45 minutes a day and I just sit down and read till my alarm goes off and its the most peaceful thing ever!
SELF CARE
Lastly schedule some self care time EVERY DAY, 10-30 minutes of doing something to help you feel good! wether it’s stretching, doing a face mask or painting your nails. Figure out what you like. Now is the time to get to know ourselves and really take care of us!
I used to never really think too much about jeans, I would just get some that fit and called it a day. Until my coworker introduced me to Topshop jeans and I became obsessed! I swear I bought 4 pairs in one month, I started with one, went back the following week for another one, then the next week I got 2 more! Luckily for me, Topshops in the U.S closed down and now I can control myself and just order what I need online. So today, I’m going to show you my 3 favorite cuts so you can order them and become obsessed yourself!
The Jamie Jeans $70 – BEST skinny jeans EVER! They’re a bit stretchy so they hug you in all the right places & they’re super comfortable. They are also super versatile, you can dress them up with some heels or down with some sneakers. The quality on these is amazing! Well worth the price.
The Hayden Jeans $67- Cutest bf jeans! I’m only 5’2, so when the whole bf jean fad started I couldn’t find any jeans that fit me the right way, till I found these. They’re slightly cropped, so they hit me right above the ankle, and they’re a bit over sized but snug enough to not feel like you’re drowning in them. They are also on sale right now!
The Dad Jeans $75 – These ones are everythingggg, they are straight leg so you can tuck them into some boots for that LA look, you can wear some cute mules with them or even some dad sneakers! They’re also extremely comfortable and they’re mid rise so you can wear them with almost any top!
If you’re not obsessed with dry shampoo yet, you’re about to be! Dry shampoo is one of those products that everyone needs to use. It’s fast, easy and has many benefits. As a hairdresser I never recommend that my guests wash their hair more than 3 times a week. Washing your hair often dries out your scalp, which leads to DRY HAIR! ugh!! You need those natural oils your scalp produces to keep your hair the healthiest it can be. Another benefit of grabbing the dry shampoo bottle instead of washing, is that the color that you paid hundreds of dollars in the salon for will last longer! Every time you wash your hair it strips the color leaving you with sad, dull strands. Dry shampoo is super easy to use, simply spray at your root and brush through. I always recommend to spray first thing when you’re getting ready in the morning, then do your make up, get dressed and then brush through and style your hair. Those extra moments will give the dry shampoo more time to soak up the oils before you brush! Here are my top 3 dry shampoo recommendations…
IGK First Class Charcoal dry shampoo is amazing! it soaks up all the oils and adds so much volume and texture to your hair! It has a strong scent when you first spray it but it doesn’t last long. The volume and clean hair lasts all day though! IGK carries 2 other dry shampoos, Direct Flight & Jet Lag for medium and light cleansing, but First Class is the best one in my opinion! You can get it at your local Sephora or online for about $27
My dearly Amika! Amika is formulated without talc or aluminum so there’s no yucky stuff being absorbed into your scalp. Because it’s talc free it doesn’t have that gritty feeling a lot of dry shampoos have, it does however still soak up excess oils and adds volume. The smell on this one is sooooo good!! I honestly wish they would make a fragrance of this because I could smell this forever! You can score this bad boy for about $25 at Sephora or online.
Lastly we have Batiste, Batiste is known for their dry shampoos. They have a ton of different scents and colors so theirs an option for everyone. The cool part about these having color in them, is that if you have grey you can spray this and it will cover it up till your next wash. They’re also the most affordable of the 3, so if you don’t want to spend too much you can try them out for about $9 at your local drugstore.
